Egypt, Abu Simbel, Great Temple Facade of the Temple of Ramses II; second figure destroyed in earthquake in 22 BC.. This entire complex was moved from 210 meters away and 65 meters down when the High Dam at Aswan was built. Otherwise, its location would have been flooded annually. 2004/03/24
