We had a fairly good turn out for meeting at Lou's. I was fun seeing many new faces I haven't seen for many years. Mike
Meixner, Greggory Chow, Cheryl Harris White, Terry Scott Schwartz, Susan Werner Fox, Bobbie and Tim Rielly, Garnet Gilmore Volkens, Jim Swansen, Tom Allen and myself were at Lou's ( did I miss anyone?). It was rather noisy, but we managed to pick a date -Sat.Nov. 21,2009 and location at North Highlands VFW for our 45th reunion. Phill Olsen from Class 0f 65 secured the location for us(not first date we picked)and volunteered to be our DJ. We all thought we would like to do some dancing but wanted lots of quite time to visit. I have secured the caterer for a nice buffet dinner with china.
Bobbie Rielly has volunteered to work on raffle prizes, hoping Alex Candelia and many others will help her, Cheryl White is working on mailing list and email list. Could Ed Glidden and Marilyn Thompson send Cheryl White and me the master address lists you have, and anyone else who has currents updates of fellow classmates especially email addresses? Garnett Gilmore Volkens and Georgina Ash will work on memorabilia table. table. Hoping Sue Fox will work on Mermorial table. Anyone want to work on "Most" awards (farthest etc.)??? Hope Julia Takas Wilson will do mailer, Etc? Need volunteers for mailing, name tags , decorations, guest table, photographer etc????
I think we will be able to hopefully keep our ticket cost to about $20 ea. and send out one mailer but hope to get most information out by email and through the Highland's alumni web page: www.highlandshighalumni.com If you are able to please join the group
( membership is very reasonable) the Alumni group will be better able to keep us all in contact over the years and has a nice scholarship program. Garnett is in charge of the alumni's Christmas Party- Dec. 19th.
Now for next meeting we need a quieter place to meet. Tom Allen will not be able to host the meeting at his house as we had first planned. We new a new location!!! Does anyone have a suggestion?? We sort of liked the Roseville area as it seem more central. The date we had planned was Friday 2:30pm -Oct 16 went most all of us could meet.
Need to start also thinking and planning about a larger Bash for our 50th reunion, but even a simple reunion this year will be a lot of fun and great to see almost everyone!!!!. Would be nice to find chair persons now for our 50th. Looking forward to your response.
