He is survived by his son Bruce; father Howard and step-mother Nancy; sister Cindy; brother Doug; his cat Twilight, and a long list of very close friends. Bruce grew up in the Sacramento area and graduated from Highlands High School in 1974. He later attended American River College where he became an accomplished baseball player - a sport that was truly his passion and one that he continued to play for most of his life. Bruce held many jobs throughout his life, including truck driver, mechanic, umpire, and longshoreman. He enjoyed life to its fullest, and especially enjoyed sharing his thoughts and stories with the people he met along the way. A memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, March 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at New Seasons Church, 920 Westacre Rd., West Sacramento, with a luncheon following. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in his name may be made to the Sacramento Food Bank. Published in The Sacramento Bee on Mar. 19, 2014 | | |
