LUMBERTON — Mr. Roy Leslie Davis, 71, of Lumberton, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 17, 2018.
He was born on May 9, 1947, in Springfield, Ohio, to the late John Max Davis and the late Loretta Marie Fisher Davis.
Roy was a 28-year veteran where he worked as unit administrator with the Army Reserves. In college, he majored in Biblical Studies with a minor in Deaf Studies.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 40 years, Creta Davis of the home; his son, Joshua Paul Davis (Leah) of Augusta, Ga.; two daughters, Angela Davis Britton (Dan) and Kelly Renee Rudinoff (Jeff), all of Fayetteville; a brother, Steven Davis (Anita) of Andrews, N.C.; a sister, Linda Miller (Zach) of Elk Grove, Calif.; and eight grandchildren, Stephanie Rudinoff, Danielle Kondor, Jennifer Rudinoff, Elijah Britton, Jayden Britton, Jillian Britton and Hayley and Lesley Davis.
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 E. Fifth St., Lumberton.
Additionally, a time of visitation will be held the next day, Sunday from 3 to 4 p.m. at Northwood Temple Church, 4250 Ramsey St., Fayetteville. The funeral service with full military honors will follow at 4 p.m. with Dr. John Hedgepeth and Rev. Robert Nolley officiating.
Burial will take place on Wednesday, May 23, at 1 p.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, N.C. 28144.
