Daulton Kilpatrick was biking home from his job at the Old Spaghetti Factory on Watt Avenue when he was hit by at least two vehicles.
The crash happened about 10:50 p.m. on northbound Watt Avenue, near Poplar Boulevard. Kilpatrick, who was wearing dark clothes and no helmet, was first hit by an unknown driver who left the scene.
A second driver, not seeing Kilpatrick’s body on the roadway, hit him and stopped to call 911, according to the CHP.
Daulton Kilpatrick just got a new bike and was an avid rider. He was close with his family, including his two sisters and a step-brother.
"Daulton was just a loving, caring, warm person," Victoria Kilpatrick said. "He loved everyone around him. He would literally give you the shirt off his back." | | |
