Douglas Arnold Berg was born November 6, 1948 to Arnold and Charlotte Berg in Duluth, MN. At age three he suffered from polio and recovered with some disabilities. In the early fifties they moved to North Highlands, CA. Douglas attended Fruitvale Elementary, Campos Verde Jr. High and graduated from Highlands High School in 1966. He attended small engine vocational school after high school. He worked many years at Jay's Lawn Mower and Bike Shop in North Highlands, CA. In 1976 he moved with his parents to Perham, MN after they retired. Living near Big Pine Lake he enjoyed fishing, target shooting, motorcycling, building balsa airplanes and driving his radio control cars. Douglas will be missed by his many friends in Minnesota, North Dakota and California. Douglas was watched over in his last days by his cousins, Richard and Beverly Mark. His very dear friends: Michelle Bylander, Douglas and Jill Owens, and Jim Arno. He passed away peacefully under the excellent care of the ICU personnel at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND at 9:30 a.m. July 15, 2017. Douglas is preceded in death by his parents: Arnold and Charlotte Berg; sister, Marlene Gillespie and cousin, Floyd Barratt. | | |
