Owen Michael Stewart lost his courageous battle with cancer on February 21, 2015.
He was born in Sacramento to Mary & the late Daniel Meredith Stewart on May 22, 1952.
He is survived by his mother Mary Stewart, son Lorenzo Arteaga, daughters Hannah Stewart & Lottie Brandes, granddaughters Luna & Andera and sister Diane Vollet.
His brother Daniel Stewart preceded him.
Mike graduated from Highlands High School, American River College and Sacramento State College. He also attended McGeorge School of Law. Mike worked during and after college as a carpenter and general contractor. He changed careers and was employed by the State of California as a program analyst.
Mike loved all types of music. He volunteered for the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee for several years. He was a fan of the River Cats and attended many games with his family. Mike loved gardening but reading was his lifetime passion. Mike will be missed by his family and friends and all who knew him.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a Rosary on Tuesday, March 3, at 6:30pm at North Sacramento Funeral Home, 725 El Camino Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95815.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 4, at 1:30 pm at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 3235 Arden Way, Sacramento, CA 95825.
Inurnment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date. | | |
