Recent News About Me:
DOD: December 27, 2018

Per Gene Huffman "Bob was a near life-long friend, classmate, roommate, confidant, and "brother" to me and others. I'll miss him dearly but hope he is now in a better place. "

Bob was born in El Paso, Texas on April 20, 1948 to Emile and Esperanza Duchene. He was a devoted family man and loved his many friends. Bob traveled annually with his daughter to such faraway places as Costa Rica, Panama, Germany, Japan, Hawaii and Florida. Years later, he traveled to several states for an annual vacation with his wife and granddaughter, Addy, taking a grand finale trip to Yellowstone where he introduced fly fishing to Addy. At home, he enjoyed barbequing, experimenting in the kitchen, tending his bar and entertaining house guests. Bob also practiced photography and had strong political convictions. He was an avid reader of daily journals and newspapers and a regular contributor to his Facebook community. He was quite the prankster, his mother-in-law being one of his favorite targets. Many knew him as “The Big Kahuna”, a name he often called himself. Bob worked in the food industry for over 50 years. He was an Operations manager for Specialty Brands in Southern California and Vice President of Operations for Ruiz Food Products in Dinuba. Bob passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on December 27, 2018.

Bob was preceded in death by his brother; David Duchene.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Marcee Duchene of Clovis, his daughter Chelsea Duchene of Santa Ana, his granddaughter, Adalynn Duchene of Santa Ana, his brother Victor Duchene and his wife Olga of Upland, CA, a sister, Diana Zachgo and her husband Michael of Texas, a brother, Ralph Duchene and his wife Renee of Baton Rouge, LA, and a sister Annette Duchene of Sacramento. Bob also leaves behind his nephews, Daniel Duchene, David Zachgo and wife Mandy, and Alexander Duchene.

A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at Boice Funeral Home on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.

Remembrances may be sent to Poverello House at 412 F Street, Fresno CA 93706. https://poverellohouse.org/donate
